Cat photography, for most people, is a way to remember their pets’ funny actions and playing around. But actually, cat pictures require more talent to move to the next level and become professional cat photographs.

When taking cat pictures, you need a special talent in order to choose the right moment for taking the shot, especially because you are taking photos of a continuously moving and active creature that you cannot control. In order to succeed in cat photography and predict the next move of your cat, you will need some practice and a good understanding of animal behavior. So, before you start taking cat pictures, you may need to consider the following tips to help you get professional cat images of your favorite pet:

  • You need to keep your cat in the photography location. So, you can keep the cat busy with its favorite treat or toy while you are taking the photos.
  • Keep the background of the scene clear and simple. The background of cat pictures should help focusing on the cat itself. Thus, it needs to be simple and in contrast with the cat’s colors.
  • Lower your camera level to the cat’s level. This will help getting cat images from the correct perspective. This point of view will also help you get nice, detailed cat pictures.

  15. I am so much a cat lover. My kitty is my buddy. She greets me at the door just like a dog. my husband works out of town and my cat fills my hours and days with such love and affection. My husband rescued her from the pound 6 years ago and she was such a scared cat for about 2 years. Now she is a happy cat. I believe she knows she was a rescue cat and a she’s been thanking us for that ever since. Cats rule!

  59. My cat Toby at the age of 14 died last August. My husband was was inconsolable so I decided to adopt a cat. We adopted a beautiful 1 year old male &. named him Danny boy. He always sits on my husbands lap. Danny drinks from the sink. Sits, gives you his paw & tilts his head when you say “Give me a kiss” then I give him a treat. What a treasure he is.

  61. Usually I wait until our cat is either asleep or just waking up; if she is awake she keeps moving so much that snapshots are next to impossible. But sleeping or waking up she can be very cute. Good tip about the background BTW, should give that more attention.

A Calaco/ Tabby Named Her Pumpkin My Then 9 Year Old Son My Husband And I Fell In Love With Her. She Was So Smart . I Had Her For 10 Years And She Died Of Cancer In My Arms. It About Killed Me. Now I Have 2 More Molly A Calaco And Misty A Tabby . They R Beautiful Spoiled RottenI Still Mis Pumpkin I Gave Her A Great Life . Like Misty AndMolly.
